FCC, FEMA to Test Emergency Notifications

After 2:00 PM ET on Wednesday October 4th, There will be testing of IPAWS (the integrated public alerting and warning system) including the Emergency Alerting System (EAS) for all participating radio and television broadcasters, and also the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) which will be pushed out to cellular telephones throughout the country. In the event the tests are postponed due to widespread severe weather or other significant events, October 11th is the back up.
