CISA Active Shooter Workshop
NOTE: Registration closes at noon, August 14th. South Portland, ME August 19th 7:30AM check in, 8:00 – Noon. Host: Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Region 1 – Location: The Point Community Center, Conference Room B, 345 Clarks Pond Parkway, South Portland, ME 04106 Format & Intensity: four-hour in-person workshop designed to enhance your organization’s readiness and resilience in the event of an active shooter incident. Target Audience: School administrators and security officers, Organizational leaders/decision makers, Emergency managers and planners, Corporate and onsite security professionals, Human resource managers, Supervisory staff, Community response officials. Objectives: Share best practices, communications protocols, and resources to assist stakeholders in developing or enhancing their emergency planning, preparedness, and response to active shooter incidents. Discuss the elements of active shooter incident response planning with guidance from expert instructors. Describe common behaviors, potential violence indicators, and situations associated with active shooter incidents. Registration: Note: Event logistics will be sent via email the Friday prior to the workshop – FREE – Opens on July 20, 2026 – Limited to 170 participants – Closes no later than August 14, 2026, at noon (12:00 pm ET) – Please limit registration to no more than three personnel per organization.
