Chapter Activity 05/13, 05/20/2021 Good/Bad Drone

Our two-part series of presentations was nicknamed Good Drone – Bad Drone. In part one, Ryan Hodgens, a C-UAS subject matter expert, presented on Robotic Perimeter Security Systems, autonomous security robotics and their advantages. Hodgens advocates for expanding safe and secure UAS operations within the U.S., co-founded the Central Coast National Security Collaborative (CCNSC), and has served numerous standards committees and policy making bodies.

In part two, Linda Ziemba presented the dark side, how UAVs can be used nefariously, detection and mitigation developments, prevention of attacks and regulatory landscape. Ziemba founded AeroDefense which provides fixed and mobile drone detection and pilot location solutions.
